Why?
Blogging: a fad, a public journal, a collection of thoughts, a digital fingerprint.
I have given it enough thought, its time to give it a go.
For months I have been contemplating as to whether or not this new project would be fulfilling and I think it is best I give it a try. My hesitation rests heavily on two things, my inability to write formally and my lack of consistency. That being said, they are two things that I must strengthen to get anywhere meaningful and so I hope that by persisting with this project, these two shortcomings will gradually fade into strengths.
Now, disregarding my hesitations, the question "Why?" is still left unanswered. I spent a significant amount of time contemplating what little (if any) value I could bring to people's lives through this blog, and in reality it shouldn't matter. A blog is personal, its a journal, there are no templates or rules as to how I need to do things. So to start, there will be no particular writing etiquette—just simple chats, spontaneous thoughts, and new things that pique my interest; essentially, a stream of consciousness.
As far as structure and goals go for this, I believe it boils down to one of the things I love to do most, Learning. I believe learning is what gives purpose and fulfillment so, to learn to love learning is what I am here for. I set the following goals for myself as a (very) amateur blogger, full-time student, and a master Good Friend's Poke bowl maker:
- To learn, to a relatively deep extent, a new thing each quarter, and document the learning process here.
- Write about my travels and my experiences around the world.
- Discuss my interests.
Through these endeavors, I hope to grow a community of learners who share an interest in the explorations and insights I gather. I am beyond excited to start this journey and look forward to seeing where it takes me!
